The Wedding Dress

Three sisters in the years after the Civil War face poverty and general joylessness: Julie and Victoria are widowed; Claire has never married and has few prospects. Nonetheless, they decide to make Claire a wedding dress, and in the course of its construction the sisters rediscover a reason to go on--and when a dashing sergeant arrives on the scene, the sisters see the possibility of important changes in their lives.
